no sound is played

Bug Description

no audio is played in my system i use ubuntu-9.10 desktop edition... i have a creative 5.1 speakers...also to note that in windows my speakers works good...i also tried reinstalling my ubuntu 9.10 twice...

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. Chris's (template) instructions are incomplete. You need to use apport-collect -p alsa-base 500188
