Bug Description

If I write a mail to a new recipient (which is not in one of my addressbooks) evolution should add this new address to one of my addressbooks. But this doesn't happen anymore, even this worked some while ago.

I doublechecked my preferences. I create a new clean addressbook for testing etc.

I have two addressbooks:
"Persönlich"
"Gesammelte Adressen"

Autocompletion still works fine, just automatic adding is broken.

Evolution 2.6.1 on Ubuntu 6.06 LT/PowerPC

Thanks for your bug. That works fine on edgy with an evolution patched for bug #51270 and http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346180 so it's either fixed with GNOME 2.15.90 or will be with GNOME 2.15.91

I've opened a dapper task, that's a fix we probably want to backport for it

It's not a priority but if somebody comes with an update we might backport it, we didn't get many demands for it though

On my computer (PowerPC, Gutsy) it still didn't work (and never worked since I reported this bug). I checked again the settings. Could it be, that the fix is not in the PowerPC port? How can I help to fix this problem?
