Bug Description

When I search something, beagle list evolution emails which matchs my query, but also list emails that I have deleted from evolution.

Steps to reproduce:

* Download email
* Search for something that match any downloaded mail
* Delete the this mail
* Search again
* The mail is again listed in beagle results, of course you can't open this mail because it doesn't exist

When I delete a mail, Beagle should delete this email information from its index.

Perhaps a bug in beagle-backend-evolution

This is not just when you delete email, it also occurs if you move the mail to another folder. It appears beagle's index does not get updated when you either move or delete email.

Beagle does delete e-mails, however, given the size of many mail folders/summary files, removal from the index can take a few minutes.

That being said, in Edgy there was a DateTime issue that prevented many Evo mails from being reindexed/removed properly. This should be fixed in feisty.

status: Unconfirmed → Fix Released

Always the same response: this bug should be fixed in the next Ubuntu release. Why can be fixed in Edgy? Why I need to upgrade to Feisty to get all the bugs fixed?

You can check out edgy-backports, but thats never garunteed. I'm an upstream developer, so I'd always love to see the latest and greatest reaching everyone, but there needs to be a system. Ubuntu has a system that seems to work pretty well, and it froze upstream releases over a month ago....
