Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Even after deleting ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf and reinstalling ubuntu one client and gnome client problem still persists. I also have tried to manually change the values and increased the bandwidth limit to full in syncdaemon but still there is no change. Strange of all my client shows connected while the folder still is disconnected and shows the connect button on the right side of it. Files are not syncing and this bug I think is not the duplicate of 455544.

Hi Suniyo,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Can you try the following and let me know if it fixes things for you?

  1. Quit the Ubuntu One client
  2. Open (or create if it doesn't exist): ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf
  3. Add the following 2 lines to this file and save:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

  4. Go to https://one.ubuntu.com/account/machines/
  5. Select the checkbox next to your computer
  6. Click the "Remove selected computers" button
  7. Open Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys
  8. Click on the arrow next to "Passwords"
  9. Right-click on the UbuntuOne token and select "Delete"
10. Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
11. A web page should open, prompting you to add your computer, go ahead & add your computer

Once you do all that, can you let me know what the results are? Does the client connect? If so, can you put a small file in your ~/Ubuntu One folder and have it transfer?

If this doesn't help, please attach the following log files to this bug report:

~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/oauth-login.log
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

Thank you,

Joshua

Don't know about the problem if it is resolved or not. Still my Ubuntu One is not working for 15 days or so and I am really missing it. :(

suniyo, could you please update your ubuntuone client to the latest stable version via update-manager?

After that quit the applet and start ubuntuoe again. If it does not work, please attach the file ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log for us to investigate the reason of the failure.

I've tried this many times and it doesn't make any difference. Yet again I tried it once more and result is same. Please find the attached file you requested. There were many in the log folder, I attached the most recent one.

I think I've got the same issue. It's vaguely intermittent, but even when it DOES kinda connect, it doesn't do all the files, only one or two here and there. Overall, though, it's been days since I've been able to successfully connect. I tried deleting the syncdaemon file as advised in another bug report for a similar issue, and that didn't fix, I even reinstalled via synaptic, and that hasn't fixed. I also even enabled 'karmic-proposed' hoping to get the latest fix, but nada.

Like I said, I've been having the same problem. I tried completely reinstalling, and removing all computers (and in the process encountered a bug, now resolved, where I got an error trying to do that even). This did not solve the problem, so recently I tried what you said Josh, and attached is the log files. Although now the client and the applet both say I'm connected, no files download from the server (I have many on there), and no files created upload.

I almost wonder if, considering the bug where computers couldn't be removed, if there's a SERVER side issue?

Again, my ubuntuone doesn't download or upload files, although the fix you suggested did make the client and folder both agree that they're connected.

As further background: I have many files on there (text files organized into several subfolders), and I originally had two laptops in the system, as I have two laptops and wanted to keep them both synchronized.

It's really bothering me to have these files not upload, and I don't think I'm the only one experiencing this (especially since I'm not even the creator of this bug). It seems that the interface is sometimes buggy, and that sometimes once it goes buggy, you're stuck, even with all the proposed fixes I've found.

It is working correctly for me now, suddenly it started functioning and
files are also syncing with each other but taking lot of time to download
some file from the server, upload is though working fine. I think there are
some server side issues and file sync problems but I am bit happier now as
I'm at least able to connect it now.
