Function keys not working as expected

Bug Description

system-version | F.09

The following keys do not work as expected (Unicode), I collected the keycodes from 'System > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts'

Fn + Esc (0x9f) System information
Fn + F9 (0xa2) media player play/pause
Fn + F10 (0xa4) media player stop
Fn + F11 (0x90) media player previous track
Fn + F12 (0x99) media player next track

When the media player keys are used as shortcuts for the relevant sections under sound, each alternate time I try to set them I get
Fn + F9 (XF86AudioPlay) media player play/pause
Fn + F10 (XF86AudioStop) media player stop
Fn + F11 (XF86AudioPrev) media player previous track
Fn + F12 (XF86AudioNext) media player next track

But they still don't work

Can you test this on Dapper 6.06.1 or Edgy Beta 1 so we can see if the bug still exists?

Thanks for the reminder, sorry but there's no improvement (tested with VLC), as usual Totem couldn't play my files.

Hi,

I've got similar problems on a HP Pavilion dv9074 laptop, both in Edgy Final and Feisty Herd 5.
I've reported bug # 91396 that seems to be a duplicate of this one, as well as a part of bug # 33045.
