Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

After upgrading from Firefox 3.5 to firefox 3.6+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 the Firefox icon in the panel was replaced by a the "No" symbol (a red circle containing a red diagonal line) on a black background. When I clicked on it Firefox 3.6 was launched (I'm using it now) and the correct Firefox icon was restored in the panel.

It was preinstalled by default in Lucid alpha 2. I should have mentioned my version before, sorry.

I am seeing the same thing after an upgrade from 8.10

Tried forced reinstall of firefox from synaptic, still no icon.

As a workaround:

Where is the icon file supposed to be so I can fix it manually if it is installed but not set?

Which package should I get to install it if it is missing?

@earthforce_1 - If you right-click on the "No" symbol (a red circle containing a red diagonal line) on a black background which is displayed where the Firefox icon used to be, you will get a pop-up menu. Select Properties from this menu and when the Launcher Properties dialog box opens you can left-click on the icon place-holder on the left-hand side to choose a new icon. The one you want is called firefox.png but you will probably spot the familiar Firefox logo before you read the filenames.

Thanks madb, eventually found it under:
/usr/share/openclipart/png/computer/icons/firefox.png

Not quite the place I was expecting to find it, so I wasn't looking there before
