kernel(?) plays tricks with keyboard lights

Bug Description

I believe it started with the latest kernel: the keyboard lights on my Dell Latitude D505 switch on and off randomly. Their status does not represent the status of num lock, caps lock, scroll lock.

I will try to gather more information.
