Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome

I own a compaq v4000 notebook and when I click the volume control button while gnome is about done loading the upper left hand bar will become unresponsive. Everything from the clock to the speaker icon. The menu items on the far left are unaffected.

A simple restart of gnome fixes it.

Also a few seconds after gnome is loaded I can press the volume controls fine and no freeze up occurs.

My hicup.

I meant the upper right hand for gnome. My mistake.

Thanks for your bug report. Which version of Ubuntu and gnome-panel do you use? Does sound work for you generally? Can you use the volume sliders in apps like totem and rhythmbox?
