I've been using Rhythmbox, since ubuntu 7.10 and had not presented this issue, do not think it's default, if placed now call it a demotion, because you could not go to the previous song

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I looked at the changelogs for Rhythmbox and did not see anything about the developers changing this behavior. However, I confirmed this behavior on my machine with the default Rhythmbox version. It is likely that a change was made without an entry being made in the changelog. If you wish, we could see about setting this is a "Wishlist" item for the developers to look at. However, if you want us to potentially do so, we will need you to please go into more details on how you think Rhythmbox should behave. I am marking this bug "Incomplete" until more clarification is provided.

This seems to be a new feature to let the users go the beginning of the current song.

thanks for the attention and clarification of the issue.
rhythmbox normally in any part of the song if you click on "previous song" came back to the beginning of the song if I kept clicking going to the previous songs, but now if have passed 4 seconds of song, after "previous song" button is without operation, not go to the beginning of the song or go to the previous songs, and I think it is a useful feature
thanks for the attention

Thank you for replying and clarifying the bug you are experiencing. I had previously thought that the "Previous Song" button was simply restarting the song, but you are saying that it does nothing after 4 seconds? If that is true, then this is indeed a bug. Can you please confirm if I am understanding you right? If that is the problem you are experiencing, can you please let us know if going to 'Control' -> 'Previous' works correctly or not?

We understand that not all Ubuntu users are native English speakers, so we really appreciate your effort in filing this report in English. If you would like us to use an auto-translator and include a Spanish version of what we say, please let us know!

exactly, 4 seconds after the button "previous" does not work, not go to the start of the song, it goes not to the previous songs.
Try using "control" -> "previous" and presents the same error

thanks

hello, in the player listening to MP3 files, review the post of Mr Jonathan Matthew and I had installed the gst-ffmpeg, I uninstall and install the gst-plugins-ugly and it is running the button "previous"
thank you very much, I think the player should give info on the codecs that work best, is a suggestion.
however note before the bar indicating the position in the song in the majority of my mp3 files not progressing and in the table indicates the length of songs appears unknown, if not have a relationship or not.

thank you very much for the help

Thank you for updating us on your situation. The problem you are experiencing with the progress bar has been filed under bug #373534 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bug/373534) so please go there and click "Does this bug affect you?" at the top of the report.

As for your suggestion, I cannot find any previous reports suggesting Rhythmbox recommend the most compatable codecs. If I can verify that this has not been recommended for inclusion with Rhythmbox, would you like to file a "Wishlist" item suggesting that it be implemented?
