problem with boot screen, login screen and the session don't start

Bug Description

when i try to boot with thw new kernel the login screen appear like inside a little box in the right-bottom of the screen, or some times appear with a lot of little black holes that became bigger when I type something in the login screen. Than the pc is like freeze and i must restart with the power button. The only kernel that i can use is the 2.6.32-11

I'm using ubuntu 10.04 lucid alpha 1

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Can you confirm that you are having issues with the newer kernel on lucid but works fine on the older kernel? Please give both kernel versions.

yes I confirm that... the kernel version are : 2.6.32-13 2.6.32-12 2.6.32-11
the 2.6.32-11 is the only that works fine

From the glxinfo assertion error above, I guess this is a duplicate of bug 515846. I am surprised that downgrading the kernel works around it though. Do you get working DRI in this case?

now i can boot and all is ok!

Hmm, running glxinfo should still give you the above assertion error, until mesa 7.7-4ubuntu1 has been released.
