Double-clicking problems

Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I don't seem to be able to open files from Nautilus by double-clicking. For example, I have set up text files to open with leafpad, and when I double-click, nothing happens, although I can right-click and select the appication manually.

I am using an Acer Aspire 1642WLMi laptop with a Synaptic Touchpad (the problem above happens whether I double-"tap" or use the "clicker" button).

Thanks for your bug report. Do you have problem with double clicking only in Nautilus, or it's not working everywhere?
Can you past content of file /etc/X11/xorg.conf please?
Do you tried to setup double click interval in System->Preferences->Mouse?

What version of Ubuntu do you use? Does it happen when you double click on a directory to open it too?
