Bug Description

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

The 3.5.3 update caused the screensaver to no longer work. It is a KDE bug but has been fixed already. The package needs to be rebuild with the lastest KDE fixes.

when setting the time to 1 minute it never kicks on. If password required is checked, it never gets to that point and leave the session exposed.
Bug 128610: kscreensaver does not launch screensaver after x minutes.

Thanks

This is fixed in edgy, but the current dapper 3.5.3 packages need to be rebuilt with the patch.

I'll poke Riddell to do this.

Patch is located at http://websvn.kde.org/branches/KDE/3.5/kdebase/kdesktop/lockeng.cc?rev=506297&r1=548008&r2=506297&makepatch=1&diff_format=h

Not to bug anybody, but it has been a month since KDE released the fix. It has been fixed in the new edgy release. However in the main LTS release it is still broken. Again, I am not complaining, but it seems to me that the LTS should come first before the development release.
Can someone please look into this.

Thanks

looking at getting it in.

KDE 3.5.4 will be out fairly soon anyway - the 24th or so, and it will definetly be fixed in that, if not before.

I've built a KDesktop package (latest Kubuntu KDE sources with the patch above applied). This is meant to be a temporary fix until KDE 3.5.4 arrives.

The package and instructions are located here:

Now that 3.5.4 has been released, I would assume this bug can be marked fixed/released unless someone can reproduce it. Is this still a bug?
