Example screenshot attached. I also see this in a test profile without any themes or extensions installed, so this is not related to an extension.

Yes (version 2.20.1). I have a fairly complete installation of Gnome 2.20.

I've seen something similar, and that is that the Download Manager icons sometimes don't appear on an active downloads until you pause and resume them; is this some uninitialized value? I can reproduce with Ubuntu 7.04 with trunk.

I don't think so. IIRC this started when the system (= Gnome) icons were enabled in the download manager on Linux. I never saw this problem on Firefox 2.

I see this consistently on Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit, with FF 3.0b5 (32-bit)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I have just confirmed this bug with Firefox 3.7 on Ubuntu Karmic, so I am marking it as such. The lack of an icon for images may be due to the fact that the icon for an image, in a folder or on the desktop, is a small preview of the image. However, there is a generic icon for .zip files that does not seem to be used. I will continue to test this issue and will report back any findings.

I just confirmed that Firefox displays icons for those file types on Windows with Firefox 3.6, so the problem is most likely unique to Ubuntu.

@guigui14100
Would you mind testing this with Lucid alpha 3 just to confirm that it still exists in the latest build? Thanks in advance!

This was confirmed on trunk recently (see LP bug). Apparently this isn't happening on Windows Vista with 3.6 (See LP Bug). I get this in 3.6 for images and compressed file formats.
As of now in my download list, I have with missing icons:
.tiff
.xml
.zip
.bz2
.png
.txt
.jpg

But, the following do have icons:
.pdf
.gz
.ico
.html
.patch
.asp
.jsp
.sh

Thanks for the update. I will add to the description that this is occurring with the default Humanity theme (at least for me) so then it should be ready for the developers to look at.
