Jovin,
Thank you for reporting this bug. In order to get the upgrade to complete successfully please try the following.

1.Open System > Administrations > Synaptic Package Manager
2. In Synaptic select Edit > Fix Broken Packages
3. When that is done, select 'Mark all Upgrades'
4. then select 'Apply'

Sorry for the inconvenience. This is being looked into and will be fixed ASAP. If this does not fix your issue please change the 'Status' of your bug back to 'New' and leave a comment describing what happened. You can change the 'Status' by clicking the yellow circle with the exclamation point next to the 'Status' at the top of the page.

thank you,

I am marking this as the master bug report of this kind of problem.

The reason why this happens is: ubuntuone-client-gnome contains ubuntuone-login in r321. Ubuntuone-client-gnome depends on ubuntuone-client r321. In order to upgrade the system completely, apt starts upgrading ubuntuone-client first, leading to the problem described. r394 of ubuntuone-client has ubuntuone-login script, while r394 of ubuntuone-client-gnome does not have one.

The solution is to remove ubuntuone-client and ubuntuone-client-gnome packages then install them again. The dependencies will then be resolved in correct order.

Dear Ramon,

Same here, re-install worked ok. No clue as to what went wrong in the first
place.

Ubuntu ROCKS and so does Ubuntu-One. The latter only lacks a windoze client
to close the gap for millions of people who need to work with both OS.

Reinstalling has not solved the problem for me. Although all the packages now seem to be installed correctly, I can't work out how to launch the client. It's disappeared from the Internet menu, and several commands including ubuntuone-client and ubuntuone-client-gnome just say "command not found". I can still open the preferences window from the preferences menu, and that seems to be OK, except for its icon in the menu seems wrong - it's a small cloud with a red cross behind it, all surrounded by a square red outline.

I also have the same issue as CharlieAshford. I even tried the procedure at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/778, and I still can not launch the client.

My Ubuntu One folder is still in my home folder, however it no longer has a (dis)connect button. Syncing does not function at all.

I am having the same problems, Ubuntu One Client does not appear to be connecting, a full re-install yesterday did not seem to help any, my Ubuntu One folder is still in my home directory but thanks to Russ, I noticed that I too do not have the (dis)connect button anymore & I just noticed that my Ubuntu One activity icon is no longer there.

Just followed Joshua's updated instructions, my (dis)connect button is back in my Ubuntu One folder, but my Ubuntu One activity icon is not there. I'm not able to sync my folder with Ubuntu One yet, though I have a hunch that this might just take a bit of time before it goes. For whatever reason it usually takes up to 24-hours after making changes, before I am able to sync again.

After that, I used Synaptic to completely remove the packages and
reinstall them. I logged out of my account, logged back into ubuntu and
it was trying to work but it crashed again. I look forward to your response.

It says it's for 9.04, but it'll work in 9.10 too.

Without it, Synaptic will install Ubuntu One 1.0.3 which'll crash every time you try to run it.

Well, that's about like with Windows. It sure didn't work: open with what,
or find the ubuntuone-client-gnome file where? Hopefully they will again
send down the necessary packages down sometime soon--maybe before or with
the April release of Lucid.

Under 'Passwords' there should be an entry for Ubuntu One. You can remove that. Then when you go to System > Preferences > Ubuntu One; it should open your internet browser to the Ubuntu One website. Once you log in there and confirm access from your current PC, it should update the account info.

I hope you get this in time. DO NOT do what my last comment said. It should've worked but it doesn't. I tried it myself as I was writing it. It'll cause Ubuntu One to forget your PC, and you'll have to reallow the PC everytime you try to load it. It'll also break the Sync function again. My response was based off of https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/778, but it seems the information isn't being saved locally after you log into the website like it should.

This is probably a different bug.

Finally got it working again.

1) Browse to ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/ and delete the syncdaemon folder. I'm not sure if you have to kill the ubuntuone processes before you do this.

2) Go to System > Preferences > Ubuntu One

3) Log in as usual

4) If it asks for access to the key-ring, allow it (once or always, your choice). It should now completely again.

5) If it did not ask for access to the key-ring, and instead goes right to your files in the web-interface, go back to step 1.

I had to do this 3 times before it worked.

Got this from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1291576&page=5

Running the following commands doesn't seem to fix the issue for me
either. Funnily enough after I reinstall Ubuntu One still appears under
Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
