1 The computer boots from CD, shows for a short period the white ubuntu logo
2 Then screen turns black
3 After some dozens of seconds, the typical Ubuntu sound is produced, then the screen is filled with vertical lines.

Still a problem in Beta 1 on the same hardware, Dell D620. I am not attaching lspci output since it is identical to the original post.
