difficult to recover from Ctrl+Alt+Tab

Bug Description

Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Tab shifts focus to the desktop or panel. There is no obvious way to bring the focus back to your applications using just the keyboard. (Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right is a workaround).

This is an accessibility problem for those who do not use a mouse, which includes many visually impaired people. They often use the change of focus extensively to instruct the screen reader what parts of the desktop to read out.

I personally feel that this is an item that requires more discussion upstream. I don't think it's useful to just have it as a bug. What do you think?

I am not sure what you mean here. When I shift focus back to the desktop, I can use Alt+Tab between the applications as normal.

Yeah, I agree with Karianne, I was able to do alt+tab back to the window without having to go from one desktop to another.

This, to me, seems like a non-bug.

Yep, it seems easy to recover with Alt-Tab now (on Edgy). That's all we need really. Several people reported it as a problem though and I did test for it myself as well on Dapper, so unless I'm very mistaken it must have been fixed in Gnome 2.16.

Marking as Fixed :)
