Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-686-smp

I am running Dapper on a ThinkPad X60s. When I upgraded the kernel image from the Live Install kernel which seems to be 2.6.15-23 to the latest dapper-security 2.6.15-26 (for some reason the package says 2.6.15-24 but the kernel image file says 26) I experience significant system slowdown. There don't appear to be any rogue processes in 'top'

In addition, the slowdown is MUCH MUCH worse for the 2.6.15-26 686 SMP kernel than the 386 kernel, to the point of making the system basically unusable (you can't type without significant 'lag').

Going back to the 2.6.15-23 kernel seems to fix the slowdown.
