Bug Description

Binary package hint: bacula-director-mysql

Ubuntu-Release: 9.10
Installed Package: bacula-director-mysql 2.4.4-1ubuntu9

I tried to install bacula on my backup server. I used the meta package bacula. mysql was not installed on my machine, therefore it was automatically selected by apt-get. I choose the default option for automatic configuration of the database. The configuration process of bacula-director-mysql then failed because the mysql server was not yet started when bacula-director-mysql tried to configure the database:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2).
unable to connect to mysql server.

I did a apt-get purge with the just installed packages and re-installed mysql before bacula and the I installed bacula. Now all worked fine because this time mysql was up and running.

I think there is a bug in the installation routine.
