Bug Description

Binary package hint: xset

At work I have to use remote fonts from hpux 11i, x11r5.
When doing xset +fp "tcp/host:port" i get
/usr/bin/xset: bad font path element (#76), possible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
    Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax

I had the same problem in 5.10 and it still exists in 6.06.
It works against other Ubuntu. Debian with xorg also works against the hpux.
Below is strace -f xset +fp "tcp/host:port" Note that localhost is a ssh tunnel that has connectivity, ssh-tunneling the connection works with/to other ubuntu machines.

Thanks, Christofer.

I'd really like to resolve this issue since it stops me from using and recommending ubuntu to the rest of my company and friends.
I'll take debian and ubuntu sources and diff against each other to see what differences there are. So far it's only ubuntu that has this bug, debian, redhat, freebsd, dragonflybsd, works, I will try gnusolaris to see if this ubuntu bug affects it.

I am also encountering this problem on 6.06, trying to use a font server on hpux 11iv2.
