Bug Description

Hi,
the latest Clearlooks metacity theme (2.15.90) doesn't fit with the latest
clearlooks (cairo) gtk2 theme (2.7.6) For example the blue used is completely
different and the metacity theme looks much more flat.
A new version that fits perfectly is at: http://www.stellingwerff.com/?p=16

Bye

ok, done... last time I asked you you said I should better wait for upstream.

This bug here was only to keep track of it and prevent duplicates

right, but you didn't say that it bothered you enough to bug downstream, we have enough bugs to manage so better to get that one closed now it has been filed

upstream rejected that bug with some rationnal, do you think that shipping the theme is the right thing to do?

Not sure...
my main reason why I wanted the new one and cared enough, the color, was probably a temporary breakage or something else here. It's fine after restarting metacity now at least.

Now I like the new theme better than the old one but that's only personal preference... and it's almost the same as we already have for the Human theme. What do you think? I would be fine with reverting it but would personally prefer to keep it.

Maybe ship the new theme as ClearlooksNew or something and have the upstream one default?

Hm, ClearlooksNew is probably wrong... maybe ClearlooksAlternate?

Apart from that the Clearlooks theme currently uses the Clarius theme for window contents, not Clearlooks anymore.

Loïc pointed on IRC some days ago while updating gnome-themes for Debian that what you call "new theme" has an older CVS revision than the upstream one and that the blog you pointed is older than the upstream change. I would prefer to ship the upstream version since it's newer and they did the changes on purpose. I'm fine with the package shipping the other variant under an another name, if you want to do that change feel free
