Bug Description
On Ubuntu lucid (development branch) Release: 10.04
$uname -a
Linux lucid 2.6.32-16-generic #24-Ubuntu SMP Sat Mar 6 12:33:21 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
I get this error message after I changed my login screen behavior in System -> Administration -> Login Screen. I clicked on the radio button to have the login screen play a sound. Then I logged out of my session.
When I logged back in I got a couple of these error message windows:
"The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFIID:
Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?"
Apport was also triggered, but quit because it could not collect enough information. Anyway, I will be happy to collect additional logs manually if someone cal tell me which package(s) I should target.

System: Dell Latitude D400, 1GB RAM.
After upgrading from 8.04LTS to 10.04LTS I ran into the same problem, but the problem affected a group of Applets, like the Desktop-Applet, the Date-Applet (which also crashes), etc...
I tried reinstalling the gnome-applets and gnome-applets-data. It made little difference.
Please note that at times only one or two applets have the problem. Other times more applets are affected.
