Bug Description
Binary package hint: plymouth
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 10.04 through ilo [1] interface on a remote machine and I could not even see the X console
In boot option, I tried removing the Splash and Quiet. In console what I noticed is, its in SQUASHFS line and it sits there for atleast 1 hour
NOTE: We have installed Ubuntu 8.04 / 9.04 / 9.10 without any issues
VGA - ATI
Intel Core 2 CPU

After debugging with the user on IRC, so far there's nothing that points to plymouth as the cause of the problems. The system is very slow to boot, possibly due to an I/O bottleneck accessing the virtual CD remotely, but this apparently has not been a problem with previous Ubuntu releases in the same network.
Everything works and displays correctly in the initramfs, up to and including break=init. Typing 'exit' to continue here, the output stops; it's not clear if this is a very slow boot, or if the boot has stopped.
Differing configurations of 'quiet', 'splash', and 'nomodeset' don't appear to affect the outcome.
