Bug Description

I'm using Kubuntu Dapper, freshly updated, on a Compag V2610CA laptop.

I have (by mistake) set the default action, when a CD audio is inserted, to be "nothing". Then, when I insterd an audio CD, no window appears to offer a choice between different type of actions (i.e open, play, extract, etc.).

When I try to remove this default action inside the KDE control panel. either it doesn't work (i.e. the "nothing" action stays effective) or kded crash. What I can sucessfully do however is to change the default action to another one (i.e open, play, extract, etc.).

Thank you for filing this bug.

Could you post a backtrace from the crash? It may be related to bug 46917.

On Kubuntu Feisty Herd 4, I can't reproduce the crash, but can confirm that unsetting something to be an auto action has no effect.

Here's a test case which demonstrates this bug on Kubuntu Hardy 8.04.1:

1. Go to "System Settings" -> "Notifications" -> "Storage Media Notifications", choose Medium type "Unmounted Removable Medium", select "Do Nothing" and click "Toggle as Auto Action" such that it now says "Do Nothing (Auto Action)", then click "Apply"

2. Exit and then restart "System Settings" and see that "Unmounted Removable Medium" still has "Do Nothing (Auto Action)"

3. Select "Do Nothing (Auto Action)" and click the "Toggle as Auto Action" button so that it now says "Do Nothing", then click "Apply"

4. Exit and then restart "System Settings" and see that "Unmounted Removable Medium" still says "Do Nothing (Auto Action)"

5. (Related bug): Click "Defaults" and see that "(Auto Action)" is turned off but "Apply" button is not activated.
