Bug Description

Now we have firefox 2.0 beta1 in Edgy, the extension webdeveloper does not work.

On the upstream website (http://chrispederick.com/work/webdeveloper/) there is not yet a 2.0 compliant extension.

Yes, it won't work with any beta. Chris Pederick said in http://chrispederick.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1442 that this extension "will only be updated once Firefox 2.0 is released."

according to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/ this addon is compatible with ff2. Should be updated before the release of edgy

It doesn't work here. In the Add-ons window it says "Not compatible with Firefox 2.0".

As Adri2000 it does not work on Firefox 2.0

Upstream release a new version *without* changing the version number. We still have the old version that does not work with our Firefox version.

It's too late to get a UVFe, so I think the best solution is to wait until the package gets updated in Debian, and then request a sync for a post-release update.

All you need is to edit /usr/lib/firefox/extensions/{c45c406e-ab73-11d8-be73-000a95be3b12}/install.rdf, and increase em:maxVersion for targetApplication with em:id {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

Why on the world do I have to do that manually on such a friendly distro as Ubuntu?

Andrew. I installed webdeveloper from the repos with firefox 2.0.0.2+1-0ubuntu1 and it works fine. What about it doesnt work for you?

feisty doesn't come with firefox 2 beta.

I have :
- installed firefox 2.0.0.2
- used synaptic or apt to get the webdevelopper 1.0.2

it works fine.

Ubuntu Edgy Eft is no longer supported, so a SRU will not be issued for this release. Marking Edgy as Won't Fix.
