Bug Description

I made an upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04 beta 2, everything went smoothly during upgrade until finally it asked to restart.

After restart it didn't boot again even on recovery mode. boot verbose messages stops after mounting hard drives.

All log files seems to be clean, I upgraded BIOS to latest version and still no progress. Boot just stops without a message.

I'll attach all files that I think may be related or may make sense.

Removing plymouth*.conf rom /etc/init makes kernel 2.6.28 boots but only in recovery mode. Starting gdm make computer hangs and only hard-reset is available.

After showing the login screen, computer doesn't accept any input from mouse and keyboard

making normal boot (with plymouth enabled and latest kernel without quiet and splash options), last line I see on screen is that
"[ 8.672448] EXT-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode"

booting with init=/sbin/sulogin, then executing mount -a, everything boot successfully and return to active prompt
