Can you open ubuntu one from the me-menu (the menu which appears when you click on your username)? Do you get any error messages? I can't reproduce this on a standard install. Using a standard install I haven't got a Device Manager icon in the Applications>System Tools menu. Is this an upgraded system or a fresh install of version 10.04?

I believe you have submitted this bug under the ubuntu start page in error so I'll also move it to ubuntu-one.

affects: ubuntu-start-page → ubuntuone-client

Tried what you suggested. Still no luck; no error messages either. Did
upgrade to the next Kernel release 2.6.32.22-generic. Device Manager and
Ubuntu One still not working. I know the 10.04 is no longer using HAL
(whatever that is), so maybe that's why Device manager is not working. I
am using the WUBI version of Lucid Lynx(not an ISO from ubuntu.com) dual
booting with Vista on an HP laptop. However I have 10.04 on my desktop
which went thru all the upgrades from 9.10 (i.e. alpha to beta and final
release) abd these 2 programs work OK. So maybe they don't work because
it is a WUBI install on the laptop.

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Are you
still having this issue with all the updates installed? If you are
please leave a comment and we can look into it.

Thanks
Shane
