Bug Description

After upgrading to lucid, nautilus stop opening smb:// shares by DNS-domain name.

I have some server in local network:

IP: 10.80.0.1
 smb://10.80.0.1/share/ - working great, Ok
NETBIOS: Server
 smb://server/share/ - working great, Ok
DNS: server.net.local
smb://server.net.local/share/ - Not FOUND !!! Stop working after upgrade :(

My DNS is working good and is not a reason of problem:

root@linux:/tmp# host server.net.local
server.net.local has address 10.80.0.1

root@linux:/tmp# ping -c1 server.net.local
PING server.net.local (10.80.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from server.net.local (10.80.0.1): icmp_seq=1 ttl=63 time=0.288 ms

This bug is not affected samba, because samba-client mount shares well.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of Nautilus is available on Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.
