Looking at the stack trace, this is an RRD or munin issue, not a Perl one. Please reassign.

Apport retracing service (apport) wrote : No launchpad retracing

Unsetting the need retracing tag, there is no retracer left running on that version of Ubuntu, the crash will need to be manually retraced

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Looking at the bugs you've reported (and the lack of other bugs like this being reported) it seems quite likely that there is something going on with your installation or hardware. Please run a memory test on your system to ensure that there are no hardware errors with your memory.

In the event that there are no memory errors please add the output from 'cat /proc/cpuinfo' and your '/var/log/dmesg' file to one of your bug reports. If you do discover that your memory is bad please set this bug's status to Invalid. Thanks in advance and good luck!

I quit that hosting service ~6 months ago and don't have access to that box anymore.

However, I asked them to do the complete memory test in the past and they even replaced one bank of RAM - but crashes kept on happenning.

Can't say anything about munin, but awstats crashed only on very large log files (several hundred megs...1 G+). When I configured max log size to 100 MB, awstats crashes stopped. First I thought this happened due to out of memory error and looked for "out of memory" / "OOM" lines in the /var/log/kern.log, but the logs were clean.

At that Perl was the only application that crashed - the server ran several high-loaded sites, a lot of memory was given to MySQL, PHP (we used php-cgi - 15 or 20 children) and Memcached but neither of them ever crashed.
