It doesn't affects sending the bugreport.
But it's a shame, that reportbug sends the bugreports to the ubuntu-user maillist, rather then send them to bugzilla where they belong. But that's another bugreport against reportbug *and* bugzilla.

Kind regards

Sorry this belongs into ubuntu, but I was messed up with Malone Bugtracker.
In the first place I wanted to file a bugreport against nvu, but that wasn't possible with this bugtracking system, because malone couldn't find the package nvu, but it is in breezy.
You could find further informations here https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3673

This is the head of the bugreport I wanted to file with malone against nvu, which I couldn't make:

Segmentation fault nvu 0.99+1.0pre-1 breezy/amd64

Bugreport: Sverity Important

Hello Riccardo,

Unfortunately I'm *not* able to file a bug report in the *buggy* ubuntu
bugzilla setup! See attached tar.gz (html) file.

I'm a bit upset, because reportbug in ubuntu sends the bugreports to
<email address hidden>:

Sending message via /usr/sbin/sendmail...

Bug report submitted to: "Ubuntu Bug Tracking System"
<email address hidden>

Why submitting Bugreports to <email address hidden>? That's rediculous.

Kind regards

Gerhard Gaußling

Yes, it's still an issue, but the errors are gone.

I got in vi at the end of the report:
-- debconf-show failed

and after hitting send:

Sending message via /usr/sbin/sendmail...

Bug report submitted to: "Ubuntu Bug Tracking System" <email address hidden>
Copies sent to:
  "Gerhard Gaussling" <email address hidden>

Your bug report has been sent to <email address hidden>. You can
subscribe to this mailing list at http://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo
/ubuntu-users An archive of this mailing list can be found at
http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/

And that's odd in my opinion. Why not using malone/bugzilla in ubuntu with reportbug??
It's really a nice bugreporting tool, and it need's only a commandline.

Just my 2 cents, but this belongs now to #1677: reportbug fails to report bugs [New].
Please merge this bug now with #1677.

This happens still on my i386 chroot (maybe it's hoary). breezy amd64 is fine in this regard.

But the bugreportsystem of ubuntu still sucks (sorry, but all these websites to walk through is annoying if you know a tool, which shows you all bugs of a the package against you wish to file a bug, collekt all dependant packages and versionnumbers, and assist you very well in reporting bugs.)

Please add at least a news page to trace back the status of a planned tool which is supposed to replace reportbug in ubuntu.
