   ...fail!

Looks like you have an error in your /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf that prevents it from starting up. If you can't fix that, I'd suggest you purge the existing configuration completely (sudo apt-get purge bacula-director-common bacula-director-mysql) and reinstall.
