Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-common

---- not a bug, see my comment below!

This bug / discomfort affects basically every Gnome-application.

Having the standard color-selection-window changes to the editbox "Colorname" i.e. to "#FFFFFF" are not reflected, but this box isn't readonly.

Solution:
- make this box readonly
OR:
very appreciated: make changes in this box possible to select a certain color by using this format.

I'm sorry

that's already implemented ... perhaps I didn't enter a valid color-name... perhaps there should be an indicator when the color-name isn't recognized...

Thanks for your bug. I don't understand the bug. From where do you open that dialog? What version of Ubuntu do you use?

Changed in gnome-common:

status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

It's irrelevant from where I open the dialog ..

For example, go to Desktop-Backgroundsettings and choose a color .. or in GIMP or whereever ...

Please look at my secound comment. It say's that there is practically no bug *g*

But when I just typ somthing like

#FFFFF instead of #FFFFF

or

wihte instead of white

in the Color-Name Box, nothing happens ...

Perhaps the Cursor then should be put back to the input box, to show, that the Color-Name I typed was not recognized...

Thank you for the explanations. That's an upstream behaviour choice, not really a bug. The right place to mention it would be upstream, we are not taking decisions for GTK behaviour. Marking as rejected since that's not really a bug
