Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

When wanting to take a screenshot and setting a delay, the window just closes and nothing happens until the screenshot is taken. There should be a window informing the user of the time remaining, so he doesn't think that the application just closed without taking a screenshot.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

I just filed a bug at GNOME's bug tracker. Hope it will be useful!

PS: Should this be in the Hundred Paper Cuts project?

Thank you for your bug report, you can open an hundredpapercut task if you want though it seems rather a feature request than an hundredpapercut and their project doesn't lack candidate bugs right now quite the contrary

Oh, okay. I guess you're right, it's a feature request rather than a bug.

After further thinking, I added a hundredpapercuts task, since it's a usability bug.

Mohamed, have you had a chance to rewrite your patch based on upstream comments?

The upstream bug was closed "RESOLVED OBSOLETE" on 2021-05-25 pending a new issue being reported at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-screenshot/-/issues/

With no activity here for almost ten years I'm closing this now. If there are any outstanding issues then they should be reported upstream to those that actually write the software.
