Bug Description

Binary package hint: kpager

I use xinerama to utilize 3 monitors; my KDE desktop is therefore spread across all 3 monitors (although it is aware of each monitor as a seperate screen, allowing maximize/minimize, etc, to work.) Since I'll often be working with one or more of the monitors off, and since apps often have their own rules as to where on the desktop they choose to open (left, right, top left, center etc) I use Kpager to keep track of where windows are. Usually I can drag a window that isn't visible on my middle monitor from the left or right, using Kpager, but this doesn't always work.

Specifically, I can't drag wine apps; gaim doesn't show up. There may be more specifics...I can add them here if you find it useful.

Thank you for filing this bug.

What version of Kubuntu are you using?
gaim shows up in my pager and I can drag it just fine, on Kubuntu Feisty, without xinerama. Can you check if it's all gtk apps that don't show up for you?
Do you have wine set to let the window manager manage windows?

Hi Yurly,

I narrowed down on this. It is only if the application is maximized that it can't be moved in the pager. I think attempting to move a maximized window should a) restore it, b) move it as normal.

Thanks

Is this still an issue? At this time I will make this as a wishlist simply because you would like to move "maximized windows." Does anyone know if this is the preferred method for moving windows? as in, if a window is maximized it should be able to be dragged around? I don't think you can in Windows, Mac, Gnome, or KDE but if you have further info on this we can see what we can do. I will look upstream and see if I find anything. Thanks!
