Bug Description

The animated desktop-backgrounds (wallpaper-slideshows) are not supported by unity. Only static images and gradients set in gnome-appearance-properties are taken into account for the rendering of the desktop-background.

Unless this is trivial, let's bounce this from the 10.10 worry list. No
need for slideshow wallpapers in 10.10.

This should be 0 change when Mirco is using libgnome-desktop (and so, get all the caching and boot speedup we work for the lucid cycle which isn't used today).

Yes, I've talked with Didier (and Vincent) to get this done "the right way (tm)". It needs a patch (new API-call) into libgnomeui, some vala-bindings for it and we're good to go using it in unity.

To be managed by nautilus directly. This bug should not be applicable to the new compiz-based version.

Maybe it would make sense to remove animated backgrounds from maverick netbook.
