[edgy] wrong dependence (libdbus-1-2)?

Bug #60611 reported by captive

vmware-player (Ubuntu)
Fix Released

Bug Description

The new vmware-player (1.0.2-2) conflicts with libdbus-1-2, which seems to be used by:
   - openoffice.org-gnome
   - openoffice.org-gtk
   - ubuntu-desktop.
So you should remove these packages to install vmplayer.
I know the last one is a meta-package, but the first and the second are needed to have "themed" ooo. ubuntu-desktop will be necessary too when we will go to major upgrades, isn't it?

Confirmed. All I saw in the vmware-player changelog was the added conflict with libdbus-1-2 but no reason why.

libdbus-1-2 is causing vmware to not start since it is loading a mix of an old libdbus and the newer libdbus. What needs to be fixed is the 3 packages listed above.

libdbus-1-2 doesn't appear to be in edgy so I assume this isn't a problem any more.
