Bug Description

I have noticed that there is a string in Ubuntu's gtk20 po file which is different from the upstream. This string is "<%s> element has neither a \"name\" nor an \"id\" element" whereas in upstream it is "<%s> element has neither a \"name\" nor an \"id\" attribute". The difference is in words element/attribute. I know it was once mentioned in gnome-i18n mailing list that the resolution of bug 351063 led to a changed string.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? From a build of the edgy package:
"$ grep "<%s> element has neither" gtk+-2.10.3/po/gtk20.pot
msgid "<%s> element has neither a \"name\" nor an \"id\" attribute""

We don't distro patch GTK strings anyway. It looks like upstream did wording changes, how is that a bug?

I use Edgy Eft. I ran into this when I was merging gtk20.po (taken from Rosetta - Edgy Eft) with the upstream gtk+.po. As far as I know they changed this word because of some bug but I am not sure.

That doesn't look like a bug to me. How did you merge them. On what locale do you work? Could you attach the .po to that bug?

I work on Slovenian locale. I have translated the upstream gtk+.po ( http://l10n-status.gnome.org/gnome-2.16/PO/gtk+.gtk-2-10.sl.po ) and when I merged it with gtk20.po ( https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/edgy/+source/gtk+2.0/+pots/gtk20/sl/+translate?batch=10&show=need_review ) from Rosetta (using msgmerge) I noticed that. I know this is nothing serious but I reported it here anyway.

It's a bug with Rosetta being a couple of versions behind
