Bug Description

This bug is related to Dapper. Don't know yet if Edgy has this still.

Search button becomes unresponsive after being pressed and you need to move your mouse away from it and then to it again, for it to regain responsiveness.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start Synaptic.
2. With your mouse, press the search button.
3. Don't move your mouse away from the button when you get the search dialog.
4. Fill in some info and press enter to search.
5. After getting a list of results, try pressing the search button again.
6. The button doesn't work...
7. Move the mouse pointer a little to the right and then back again to the button.
8. Now it works!

I can confirm this.
Not sure if is by design, or a design fault.

Might be caused by a feature which tries to prevent opening multiple child windows.

When trying to reproduce the bug. Alternativly, press ESC on step 4. Whatever button the mouse was resting on, will be inactive until the mouse leaves said button and goes back to it.

Looks like the buttons wait for a "onMouseOver" event before being active for clicking.

I'm traiging this bug as low importance because it is easily worked around and it isn't extremely common for someone to reproduce it.

I would like to add to this the following. This is with Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn - released in April 2007

To Reproduce

Click on System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package manager

While the packages are refreshing, quickly roll your mouse over the search button and leave it there.

Notice how the button will not enable until you roll off the button and then back over it again.

After rolling over it a second time, it will enable.

This is of low importance but it can be a bit annoying.
