FWIW:

This may be related to the known issue where the Gnome keyring will still require a passphrase on login. G-k defaults to the same passphrase as the user login; if the user changes the login to automatic login, then there is no passphrase for g-k, and it will pop up a request.

I am not sure there is a real solution out of this conundrum, but an accepted bypass is to set the g-k passphrase to empty.

The bug occurs at every boot, asking to unlock the keyring.

Changed in gdm (Ubuntu):

status: New → Confirmed

If you're using auto-login and have a keyring pass-phrase, then this is the expected behaviour (as your login passphrase is normally what unlocks the keyring)

affects: gdm (Ubuntu) → gnome-keyring (Ubuntu)

not sure what the issue is but that's not a gdm bug, likely one software trying to use the keyring, it could be the calendar, im, wifi, ubuntuone, or any other software

Changed in gnome-keyring (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Invalid
