Hi Ken, thank you for filing this bug report and working with us to to make Ubuntu better!

The DpkgTerminalLog.txt file included in the bug report shows this:

Running newaliases
newaliases: fatal: myorigin parameter setting must not contain multiple values: ken-desktop hotmail.com

This would appear to be an error in the myorigin parameter that got written to your postfix config.

If you manually edited /etc/postfix/main.cf or /etc/mailname, then the answer would be to edit them again, and fix that by choosing either hotmail.com or ken-desktop.

However, if you did not edit that file, then it may be that somewhere along the way this invalid value passed error checking (which it should not by reading the postfix configuration files).

Ken, I'm marking this as Invalid. You may want to try running

dpkg-reconfigure postfix

Which should ask you all these questions again, and fix that value, as it will not allow you to enter the value that you've got there.

If you do fill out this config data, and you still see the problem, you should change this report back to status 'New' and explain the steps you took and the error received.

Changed in postfix (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
