Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools

network-admin don't store wireless card changes in edgy
It worked fine in dapper. Now it say "This network interface is not configured"
but my wireless card is regularly up and working.
If try to set a static ip the changes are not stored. Also if I manually set a static ip
and I try to configure the card with dhcp from network-admin it don't work
If I do the same with my wired card it works

I have an intel wireless card with ipw2200 driver

----

I have similar problem with my modem. (Novatel Wireless U740)
I'm loading usbserial module first with vendor and product id's of my modem. At this moment i've added to /etc/modules:
usbserial vendor=0x1410 product=0x1410

kernel detects it as two ports: /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1

In dapper i was using gnome network manager since this moment to setup modem (3G) connection via /dev/ttyUSB0
then i was using "ifup ppp0" to bring my connection up
i was adding it to one of udev files so my connection was starting every time i putted my modem into pcimcia slot.

In edgy i was forced to use pppconfig and "pppd call provider" command (modem lights applet in gnome don't work either but that is probably another bug which don't bother me that much)

I prefer "interface method"
I've changed line:
       provider ppp0
to:
       provider provider
in /etc/network/interfaces
where second "provider" word is the name of my connection created with pppconfig

that was it but i cant understand why it couldn't be done with gnome-network-manager

[sorry for my english, it is the first time when I'm reporting a bug so tell me if i wrote or did something wrong]
