Bug Description

Binary package hint: choqok

Twitter has disabled http basic authentication. and requires Oauth authentication as of yesterday. Only Choqok 1.0 beta 2 adds oauth support. Therefore for choqok to be usable with twitter at all it needs to be upgraded to beta 2 or the now released beta 3. There is a PPA for it available as well that works fine on my 10.04 install. These packages just need to be pulled in I assume.

Im currently working on getting choqok beta 3 released on lucid, but there are some issues that we need to sort out first, one of the major ones being that twitter might block the choqok consumer key since its hard coded into the choqok source and twitter does not like this approach.Pacakges are already in my PPA.

Thats awesome. Has this problem been reported upstream?

Err.. which problem? The fact that twitter might block choqok if the user id is embedded in the source? Yes, upstream is aware of it and im talking the developer about what can be done, as soon as a workaround is found ill be releasing the packages into the main archives

Yes... the problem with the embedded id. Thanks for clarifying and all your packaging work. Choqok rocks.

Workaround: Install choqok from the PPA of Adilson dos Santos Dantas (currently at 1.0beta3).
