I still have a problem. I've just upgraded from 4.50 to 4.5.1 on Lucid and libqt4-multimedia has been removed. Apparently there are still unresolved dependencies.

Yes, it works: updating without problem.
I've seen this packet has been removed at updating because I suppose this packet was not needed any more.
In aptitude was referenced in removing as libqt4-multimedia{u}, and {u} means unused http://algebraicthunk.net/~dburrows/blog/entry/aptitude-0.4.10-released/

If it's not maintained anymore, than why is it in the 4.7 Final and RC1 precompiled binaries/libraries from the QT site?

Maybe I'm wrong but Qt MultimediaKit (libqtmultimediakit1) provides different libraries than libqt-multimedia should provide.
