Bug Description

Binary package hint: libpango1.0-0

after upgrading to edgy from dapper, system develops cairo problem as illustrated in the following two examples:

somervil@ubuntu:~$ xchat
xchat: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: cairo_scaled_font_get_font_options

somervil@ubuntu:~$ gnome-app-install
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/gnome-app-install", line 137, in ?
    from AppInstall.AppInstall import AppInstall
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/AppInstall/AppInstall.py", line 25, in ?

ImportError: /usr/lib/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: cairo_scaled_font_get_font_options

problem solved:

problem was caused by a secondary cairo lib installed in /usr/local/lib from some development project.
