Bug Description

Binary package hint: gparted

This bug appears only on Edgy live cd.

While editing partitions (during the installer or simply in running gparted from the menu), only 2 disk are visible (the primary slave isn't visible). Master and slave disk are the same (Maxtor DiamondMax 9, UDMA 133) and are ok (under other OS and S.M.A.R.T.).

I have 3 HDD and 1 DVD burner all connected in P-ATA.

(System spec : nforce 2; AMD Athlon XP, Geforce 5700, 1 GB DDR3200)

This bug appears only while editing manually the partitions. In "automatic" configuration there is no problem.

Partitions (of the hiden disk) are visible in the next step (mounting point).

This bug doesn't exist whith the dapper live cd.

Same problem. (Knot 3 and beta)
The bizarre thing is that it seems that gparted can't see b drives (hdb, sdb) but with more than 2 of the same kind it show others normally (in my case, from 3 hdd only hda and hdc are detected/visible).

Another point, don't know if related, fdisk sees all drives correctly but cfdisk don't. It complains of exactly the same drivers saying that partitions are overlaping...
