Bug Description

Binary package hint: xine-lib

Opening a 24-bit wav file (recorded with Traction on a mac) results in loud noise being played. Xmms, mplayer and gstreamer based players are doing fine. Audacity tells me it is a 32 bit file.

Thanks for providing the example file. This bug is caused by the backend of Totem, in this case namely xine. The gstreamer version of Totem works fine (totem-gstreamer), so do all other gstreamer based applications and a few more.

This is not a real bug, instead it is a missing feature in Xine. We have
to wait for the xine developers to add such a feature.
