Bug Description

I have a "Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)" wireless card. When booting, the card is not detected or loaded correctly. I cannot establish wireless connections at all. Even my blue WiFI light is not turned on.

Workaround: when switching the wireless network switch off on boot and waiting till GDM is loadad. Then or later I can turn the wireless power switch on and wow: my wireles network works!

This issue appeared and disappered during lucid lifecycle. I mean when upgrading to lucid, the bug was there, then it was fixed and later after a lot of updates it appeared again,...

If you need further information, please tell my, I'll try to provide it.

Hi Tobias,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I tested mainline kernel 2.6.32-0206322410-generic and my wireless works!

Thanks for the hint. Tell me if I can do further testing for you.

Still same with 2.6.32-27. Interesting ist, that if I boot with Kernel 2.6.32-0206322410-generic it will work out next boot with 2.6.32-27. But the second boot with 2.6.32-27 will not worl out.
