Bug Description

My flash disk has three partitions (In Windows, they display as CD-ROM + hard disk + removable disk).

But my Ubuntu 10.10 can't recognize it. When I try to type `sudo lsusb` in terminal, it freeze and output nothing, I remove the disk, all informations output immediately.
Then I switch to Fedora 13 and Debian sid, they both have this issue too.

My device is a Kingston DataTraveler G2 8GB.

Thanks.

Exact flash disk model and chip:
Kingston DataTraveler G2 8GB, SK6211 / SSS6690.

Known 2 disks are not recognized, one described above, the other only have 1 partition and still cannot be recognized.

In the new kernel 2.6.37, my flash disk can be recognized with 2 partitions, but the CD partition still cannot be recognized.

At least most data can be read, but only under 11.04 natty.

Hi Xhacker,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I've tested it on Ubuntu 11.04 alpha (2.6.37 kernel), and my disk could be recognized.

Does it count?
