I'm sorry, I meant to say that I can't reproduce this bug on Edgy, with gnome-panel 2.16.1-0ubuntu3. If it is reproducible, then this bug is limited to Dapper. I'm afraid I can't confirm on Dapper right now.

Thanks for your bug. It doesn't crash the panel on dapper or edgy on my desktop. Could you get a backtrace (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash) of the crash?

Looks like a gail crash. Reassigning.

Do you have the accessibility feature enabled? Can you get another backtrace with libgail-dbg libglib2.0-0-dbg libgtk2.0-0-dbg installed?

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362105 has a backtrace that partially matches yours - I'm quite sure we cam across a similar one already and it was marked fixed... maybe it was fixed in Edgy.

I disabled the accessibility feature and the gnome-panel does not crash anymore when running 'killall' from run application dialog.

not a gnome-panel bug, that's due to gail
