Ubuntu Desktop Bugs

Bug Description

The file /etc/dbus-1/system.d/system-tools-backends.conf
distributed with Edgy Eft beta contains a reference to the admin group using the wrong name:

<policy group="admin">

should be

<policy group="adm">

This effectively denies access to the system tool.

Thanks for your bug. No, that's the right group, that's the same one used for sudo

Changed in gnome-system-tools:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

Interesting, the group admin does not exists on my system, and I'm still able to use sudo, probably because of this line:

/etc/sudoers:
[...]
# Added by Ubuntu installer
jens ALL=(ALL) ALL

Has the group name change during the evolution of Ubuntu?

marking as duplicate of bug #59946 which has explanations about the changes. There is an issue with upgrades since warty which don't have the admin group
