Bug Description
Binary package hint: gcompris
On the Edubuntu 17 October daily build, GCompris causes a horrible crash that logs me out of my Gnome session.
When using the -x switch, GCompris doesn't switch display resolution, and works as expected.
My display card is a S3 Unichrome card (currently unsupported by Ubuntu), so it uses a vesa driver, which I suspect might be part of the problem.

with the -x option you disable access to the xrandr extension, its likely that this isnt available in vesa
